Calling all ComDes Students, Please submit your portfolios for the 502 Outstanding Portfolio Award for Spring 2010. You could win $502! Deadline is Sunday, May 2 at 11:59 pm. Send your PDF portfolios to ecesarrivera@gmail.com or matthewskelley@mac.com. We will post them on 502alumni.org for voting by the current members of 502. We understand that you’re very busy preparing your work to turn in for Exit Review, but since you’re putting portfolios together—when you’re finished with them—why not take a few moments and send them our way. Just submit your portfolios in PDF format—10 to 15 pieces and under 10MB. There will be one winner and we’ll announce the winner at the Exit Review.

Congratulations are due to Jennifer James, winner of this year’s Outstanding Portfolio Award. The award was presented to her by Topher Sipes who was the guest alumni speaker at the Exit Review. You can view her winning portfolio and the two runners-up on the 2009 Outstanding Portfolio Award page.

It’s that time of year again… Exit Review is coming and there’s a new crop of ComDes students ready to jump out of the gate. For your viewing pleasure, we have 14 entries for the Outstanding Senior Portfolio Award this year. Take a moment to view the portfolios and then vote for your favorite in the sidebar poll.

The official 502 Annual Report for 2008 is now available, compiled and designed by 502 Treasurer, Paula McCoy. Hardcopy of the report will be available at the upcoming 10th Annual Gary Stewart Memorial Horseshoe Tournament and Barbecue.

It’s going to be a big year for 502 - we’re celebrating our 10th Annual Riley’s BBQ this March, so stay tuned for details and mark your calendar for Saturday, March 28th for some fantastic food, good company and the Annual Gary Stewart Memorial Horseshoe Tournament!!

To all of our members who had login names and password on our old site - we have not yet finished updating and revamping that feature on our new system.  We’ll be manually moving over each user as soon as we can.  We’ll keep you posted here and via email when your accounts are active.

Designers are a curious bunch and our interests (read: obsessions) tend to cover the full gamut of all things visual, digital, and hand-made.
