It’s Due Time

Happy New Year, everyone. We hope everyone had a great holiday season and hope everyone is off to a great start for the new year. We will be planning our next event. Also, we will be discussing possible new events for the new year. Please send us your suggestions for new events or any new ideas you may have for 502. We are interested in hearing what you’ve to say. After all, this is our alumni association and we all need to work together in order for it to succeed and grow.

On the subject of success, to further 502 and to make events happen, we need for everyone to send in there annual dues of $25. Without our contributions, 502 cannot exist and cannot help the program we all care so much about. So please pay your dues through pay-pal via this web site or contact Chandra Eklund at chandra_eklund@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your time and continued support of 502. We look forward to hearing from you all. Keep an eye out for up comming events. Again, Happy New Year.

Aren’t member dues due at the end of each individual’s annual membership, whenever the individual tenders payment, and not strictly the turn of a new year?

I would love to see the Pick N Pull continue. I think that was a wonderful and very successful event.

Dues are due at the beginning of each calendar year. It is much to time consuming for the treasurer to track of when everyone has paid. It’s just easier. Thank you for your concern. I hope everyone will be paying soon. I look forward to seeing everyone at Creative Summit and the Que-n-Shoes. If there are any other concerns, please feel free to express them.

Thank you for your response Cesar. I checked my membership receipt, as well as the “Join 502″ page, and neither place mentions that “It is much to time consuming for the treasurer to keep track of when everyone has paid’ or that for this reason “Dues are due at the beginning of each calendar year”. If you can provide that this was our agreement, when I submitted my payment for an ANNUAL membership on March 17, 2009, then we can make other arrangements. However, from my records, this was not the original agreement and I do not plan to pay annual dues until a full year has gone by. I suggest the website, membership contract, and payment receipts need to be changed to reflect the reasons you listed above.

    Gratefully,
    Ethan

Ethan, you are welcome to pay when you see fit. I can understand your argument. I had a similar question when I first joined. Generally, we allow everyone to pay as they please. However, the Monday after the Summit this year, if dues have not been paid, accounts will be suspended until dues are paid. Every member needs to know that we hold everyone accountable for their dues. Truly, the dues request is a friendly reminder to everyone to pay their dues. Thank you for your suggestions. We will be talking about the future of 502 at the BBQ so, I look forward to seeing you there. If there are any other questions, please ask.

    Respectfully,
    Cesar
