Why

In order to further our mission as a support network for the undergraduate Communication Design program, we are starting our own student design competition! Professionals and alumni will spend the morning reviewing work created by ComDes students and will choose their favorite pieces to recognize with cash scholarships.

Students

If you wish to enter the Pick n’ Pull Review, there is a sign-up sheet in the 3107 conference room. Provide your name, e-mail address, phone number, and note whether or not you need access to a computer to show video or interactive entries.

You can enter a maximum of 10 pieces into the Review. With the exception of video and interactive, all work must be a high-quality print (mounting on boards is not necessary). You must arrive promptly at 8:00am with your work; tables will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

Alumni and Professionals

If you wish to donate funds to enrich the scholarships we are already providing, speak with 502 Treasurer, Paula McCoy.

All alumni and professionals attending are encouraged to be on the judging panel. The panel will be divided up into small teams and staged at intervals around the rooms we’re using. Reviewing of work will be conducted timed round-robin style; you will be provided with a set of stickers for marking projects that you’d like to promote to the final tier of judging.

Join us at Riley’s Tavern in Hunter, TX (just south of San Marcos) immediately following the Pick N’ Pull Review for our 10th Annual Gary Stewart Memorial Horseshoe Tournament and Barbecue!
